Who is C.S.I.? “Citizens Supporting Integrity” (“C.S.I.”) is a group of concerned citizens working to defeat a casino gambling proposal on the April 8th ballot in Jefferson City. The volunteers of C.S.I. recommend that our fellow citizens vote “NO” on Proposition B and vote “NO” on Proposition C.
Who are C.S.I.’s Officers?
Clyde Lear, Chairman
Carol Abbott, Secretary
Cynthia Tandy, Treasurer
What does C.S.I. do? C.S.I. supports Jefferson City voters as they investigate the truth about casino gambling and the alluring but deceptive promises of the casino industry. C.S.I. equips voters to uncover the truth regarding the total cost of casino gambling, costs that extend to all community members (even those who never “lose a dime at the boats”). C.S.I. encourages voters to consider the truth about the impact of casino gambling on the families, businesses, charities, and future citizens of Jefferson City, the beautiful capital city of Missouri.
How does C.S.I. do it?
C.S.I. intends to demonstrate the truth using videos, testimonials, fact sheets, peer reviewed studies and other data about the Predatory Nature of Casinos which:
1. Impairs Rather Than Promotes Economic Development
2. Erodes The Proper Role of Government
3. Will Destroy The Unique Culture of Jefferson City
Why does C.S.I. do it?
C.S.I. formed shortly after the Jefferson City Council voted 6-4 on January 7, 2008 to proceed with an April election to repeal a 12-year-old ban on riverboat gambling in our community.
Concerned citizens representing a broad cross section of the community (business owners, lawyers, teachers, medical doctors, ministers, bankers, engineers, retirees and others) quickly volunteered to form the nucleus of C.S.I. Our citizens’ organization was formed solely for the purpose of defeating Proposition B and Proposition C on April 8, 2008.
How do I help?
There is a lot of work to be done! We need donations to pay for printing and advertising costs. We need volunteers to help our fellow citizens discover the truth that casino gambling will have a negative impact on our community. We urge you to fight for the integrity of our community, the Capital City of Missouri.
